Eugenio Tomiolo was a leading Italian figurative artist born in Venice in 1911. In 1972, the Louvre acquired some of his etchings for their collection and, throughout his lifetime, Tomiolo was commissioned to produce frescoes, mosiacs and paintings --- including ones housed in the Vatican.
