紫外線殺菌光可分為UV-A、UV-B和UV-C三種；波長在253.7nm之UV -C最具有殺菌效果，ㄧ般被稱為「殺菌光」。本公司使用之燈管正是可產生波長253.7nm之UV-C殺菌光。 殺菌原理是藉紫外線直接照射細菌或病毒，使其喪失複製能力因而無法繁殖，最終命運就是被消滅。殺菌燈燈管是使用不會產生O3之高硼玻璃製造(雖O3有淨化空氣氣味之作用，但長期處於O3環境會使人體O2不足，影響健康)。
